Bee-huggers

Cartoon 4This gag follows on from the ‘Chemicals’ cartoon. The baby, having stopped playing with the burning smoker now decides to give a bee a hug and a kiss.

So why is the bee scared of bee-huggers? Most of the time they are harmless but occasionally they pursue dogma to the point of endangering a hive or an entire apiary. The baby represents this innocence – or ignorance. The desire to avoid harmful substances is well intended, but a more informed position would be better.
