Green Desert

Green DesertMonoculture is so prevalent across parts of the UK that many beekeepers describe rural areas as a ‘green desert’ – plenty growing but nothing to sustain pollinators.

In contrast, beekeepers in suburban areas often fare better, thanks to the British love of gardening!

A beekeeper in the English countryside being greeted by an Arab on his camel is totally incongruous, which is why this cartoon amuses me.
